Adoption of a resolution to declare as surplus County-owned property at 12398 134th Avenue, Largo, for disposition for affordable housing.
• By Deed from the City of Largo to Pinellas County recorded on June 5, 2023 (OR Book 22462, Page 1634, Pinellas County Public Records), and pursuant to Board of County Commissioners Resolution No. 23-42 dated May 23, 2023, the County acquired title to property commonly known as old Largo Fire Station #39 (Parcel #09-30-15-70488-200-0600).
• The City of Largo fully vacated the fire station in January 2026 after it relocated to a newly constructed fire station.
• The County has no need for the property and has determined that, due to its size and location, the property is suitable for affordable housing.
• Upon identifying a qualified buyer, a proposed purchase and sale contract will be presented to the Board of County Commissioners for approval.
• This resolution for declaration of surplus property, by itself, has no fiscal impact on Pinellas County.

Background Information:
The subject property was formerly owned and used by the City of Largo for Fire Station #39. The City determined the need to construct a new fire station and identified County-owned property at 12420 130th Avenue, Largo, as its desired site. Pursuant to BCC Resolution No. 23-42, the County agreed to convey the County-owned property to the City, in exchange for old Fire Station #39. Under a License Agreement between the County and City dated May 23, 2023, the City continued to occupy old Fire Station #39 during construction of the new station. The City completed construction of its new fire station and vacated old Fire Station #39 in January 2026. The property remains vacant.
Fiscal Impact:
Passage of the resolution to declare the parcel as surplus and to authorize the future disposition of the property has no fiscal impact on the County.
