Approval of the award of bid to Morelli Landscaping, Inc. for the Tierra Verde State Road 679 (Pinellas Bayway) South median landscape project.

Bid No. 178-0562-CP (JJ); PID No. 003490A; in the amount of $1,089,500.00 on the basis of being the lowest responsive, responsible bid received meeting specifications. All work is expected to be completed within 270 consecutive calendar days. Authorize the Chairman to sign and Clerk of Court to attest.

Summary:

The purpose of this project is to improve landscaping on the Pinellas Bayway/State Road (SR) 679 medians. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) owns the right-of-way along the Pinellas Bayway/SR 679, from Shore Boulevard west to Yacht Club Lane. The County is partnering with the Tierra Verde Community Association (TVCA) for beautification of the medians within the described project limits of the FDOT right-of-way.

 

Background Information:

The County is acting as the project manager, and working in cooperation with the TVCA, their respective subcommittees, and the FDOT. The County has an agreement with the TVCA for them to maintain the landscaping after construction is complete.

 

Fiscal Impact:

Expenditure not to exceed: $1,089,500.00 (includes $86,500 in unspecified work).

 

Funding is derived from grant funds provided through FDOT's Highway Landscape Reimbursement and Maintenance Memorandum of Agreement for Landscape Rehabilitation for approximately $741,000, and the Public Works Department Transportation Division operating budget: Transportation Trust Fund, for approximately $348,500.
