Approval of the award of bid to Kloote Contracting, Inc. for the odor control installation project for Pump Stations 072, 109, and 183.

 

                     Four (4) responsive bids received.

                     Pump Station 072, located in Indian Shores.  The present odor system is not large enough, greater capacity is required.  A larger capacity unit will be installed to enhance odor control and properly convey and treat wastewater effectively.

                     Pump Station 109, located in Seminole.  The present odor system is a loaned unit.  A permanent, larger capacity unit will be installed to enhance odor control and properly convey and treat wastewater effectively.

                     Pump Station 183, located in Madeira Beach.  The present odor system is not   sufficient. A new order control system will be installed to enhance odor control and properly convey and treat wastewater effectively.

 

Bid No. 189-0021-CP (JJ); PID No. 003239A; in the amount of $374,450.88 on the basis of being the lowest responsive, responsible bid received meeting specifications. All work is expected to be completed within 250 consecutive calendar days. Authorize the Chairman to sign and the Clerk of the Court to attest.

Summary:

The purpose of this project is to enhance odor control capabilities through furnishing and installing new odor control equipment, piping, and related features at three (3) of the County's sanitary sewer pump stations. Work will include site preparation and restoration, core drilling to existing manholes, and the furnishing and installation of landscaping at designated pump station locations. Stations will remain in service while work is being performed.

Fiscal Impact:

Expenditure not to exceed: $374,450.88

 

Funding is derived from the Capital Improvement Program, Physical Environment, sewer renewal & replacement allocation and from the Utilities Department Sanitary Sewer Funds.
