Summary:

This request is for a twelve (12) month extension of the County’s  Agreement for Oracle Software licensing and support and an increase in the amount of $2,167,025.85 for the following:

1) Primary Perpetual Software Licenses - $2,014,279.08
2) Oracle TimesTen In-Memory Database for Exalytics Processor- $60,363.53

4) Exalytics In-Memory Machine - $39,794.88
5) Oracle TimesTen In-Memory Database for Exalytics-User Plus - $2,205.99

This request provides for continuation of Oracle support for all existing products while BTS works to facilitate a transition of perpetual licenses to the Cloud.  While the contract has provision for a three percent (3%) increase, the twelve (12) month extension amount of $2,167,025.85 does not contain this increase.

Background Information:

This contract provides for the maintenance and support of Oracle software licenses which are utilized to support many critical business processes including the Oracle Project Unified Solution (OPUS) system.  The contract was originally approved by the Board of County Commissioners (Board) on January 5, 2010 for a seven (7) year period.

On March 27, 2012, the Board approved Amendment 1 and on January 24, 2017, the Board approved an increase to the Agreement.  The total contract amount has been reduced to $14,859,220.05 to reflect the true number of user licenses requiring support and maintenance and BTS has remaining funds of $1,138,981.24 to sufficiently provide for remaining payments through January 29, 2019.

Fiscal Impact:

Total approved to date not to exceed $14,859,220.05

Increase not to exceed                                           $2,167,025.85

Revised total expenditure not to exceed $17,026,245.90

Funding to support this item through September 30, 2019, was included the FY19 Adopted Budget.
