Summary:
The First Amendment to the LAP Agreement amends the original Project Description in Exhibit A of the LAP Agreement by reducing the project length. The Project Description has been revised to design of a five (5) foot wide sidewalk on the south side of 62nd Avenue N from 62nd Street N to east of 58th Street N. This reduction in project length was revised from the original project limits from 62nd Street N to 55th Street N. The County completed the segment of sidewalk between 55th Street N and east of 58th Street N as part of a prior County project. The County is also providing intersection improvements on 62nd Avenue N and 58th Street N as part of this sidewalk improvement project and will be responsible for the design and construction costs associated with the intersection portion of the project.
The agreement provides 100% of the funding needed for design activities associated with the 62nd Avenue Sidewalk Improvement Project from 62nd Street N to east of 58th Street N. Design costs are $133,290.00 for the sidewalk improvements. It is also anticipated that FDOT will provide 100% of the construction costs associated with this design work as well. Design activities are underway with final design scheduled for February 9, 2019.
Background/Explanation:
The purpose of the grant funded portion of this project is for design and construction of a five foot sidewalk on the south side of 62nd Avenue N from 62nd Street N to east 58th Street N. The addition of new pedestrian signal heads, sidewalk connectors and crosswalks to facilitate the crossings at 62nd Street N and 58th Street N are also included as part of the intersection improvement portion of the project. The project length is approximately 0.629 miles.
