Summary:

The purpose of the project is to rehabilitate aging gravity sewer pipes.  Routine annual inspection of gravity sewer mains enables the Utilities Department to identify defects. This specific project will rehabilitate approximately 32,000 linear feet of 8” to 12” gravity sewer mains serving mostly residential customers in the areas identified at Madeira Beach, Gulfport, southeast Lake Seminole and Lift Station 075 as listed in the attached location maps.

Background Information:

The work associated with this bid includes cleaning, videoing, Cured in Place Pipelining (CIPP), and rehabilitating sanitary sewer lines.  One of the methods to rehabilitate pipes with certain defects, is the use of CIPP. This method does not require excavation, is considered a trenchless technology, and has a reduced impact on the areas where pipe rehabilitation is required.

Fiscal Impact:

Estimated expenditure not to exceed: $1,200,075.00.
