Summary:

This request is to increase the BPA for the Public Works surface work order contract.  An increase to the BPA is requested to complete three (3) projects currently in progress (Mullet Creek, 82nd Street N, and Basin #25 Channel 6) which have been expanded to address issues identified during the project term.  This increase should provide ample funding to complete all other projects scheduled through the end of the summer.

Background/Explanation:

This contract was approved by the Board of County Commissioners on August 5, 2014 and amended on December 12, 2014 to include additional pay items.  The County Administrator approved the final term extension on April 8, 2015 and a correction to the estimated annual expenditure on May 7, 2015. Services provided include removal of sediment, debris, and obstacles that impede water runoff from drainage ditches for various projects throughout the County.

Fiscal Impact:

Approved two (2) year expenditure:                                  $4,000,000.00

Total estimated increase not to exceed:                            $  450,000.00

Revised estimated expenditure through August 4, 2016:  $4,450,000.00

Funding is derived from the Public Works Surface Water Utility Fee.
