Summary:

The purpose of this project is to replace an existing twenty (20) inch diameter pre-stressed concrete cylinder pipe force main across the inter-coastal waterway in Madeira Beach. Staff has determined that the existing force main poses a significant risk in the event of failure and recommends the line be replaced with the existing force main remaining as a redundant back up.

Background Information:

The force main originates at the Madeira Beach Pump Station (PS-163) and discharges to the South Cross Bayou Water Reclamation Facility.  The replacement force main will be constructed with twenty-four (24) inch diameter high density polyethylene.  Work also includes connection to the exiting force main at the pump station site and to the existing force main on American Legion Drive.

Funding is derived from the Utilities Department Sewer Enterprise fund.
