Approval and execution by the County Administrator of Change Order No. 1 with Manhattan Construction (Florida), Inc. for the St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (Airport) security system improvement project.

 

                     Change Order No. 1 provides a more efficient passenger boarding and deboarding process

                     Contract amount is increased by $114,829.82

                     A one hundred forty-eight (148) consecutive extension is required

 

Contract No. 178-0332-CP(LN); in the amount of $114,829.82 for a revised contract total of $3,317,195.22.  Contract expiration date is October 25,2019.

Summary:

Change Order No. 1 provides additional user capability to the Airport security access control system to place a door in a “hold open” position. This additional capability will allow the airlines increased efficiencies for boarding and deboarding of passengers to and from the aircraft.

In order to complete the work associated with this change order, an extension of one hundred forty-eight (148) calendar days is also required.

 

Background/Explanation:

The original scope of this project provided for the reconstruction of the Airport terminal building security system to bring it up to current standards.  Work included the installation of a new camera and security access control system to the existing terminal building entryway with associated monitoring system, and upgrades to the badging office.  The Board of County Commissioners awarded this project on August 21, 2018.

 

Fiscal Impact:

Original estimated expenditure:                             $3,202,365.40

Increase due to Change Order No. 1:                    $   114,829.82

Revised contract amount:                                       $3,317,195.22

 

Funding for Change Order No. 1 is derived from the Airport Capital Improvement Program.

 

Delegated Authority:

Authority for the County Administrator to approve and execute this change order is granted under Code Section 2-62 (a)(2).
