Approval and execution by the County Administrator of Change Order No. 2 (final) with Manhattan Construction (Florida), Inc. for the St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (Airport) security system improvement project.

 

                     This project provided for the reconstruction of the Airport terminal building security system to bring it up to current standards.

                     The Board of County Commissioners (BCC) awarded this project on August 21, 2018 to Manhattan Construction (Florida), Inc. in the amount of $3,202,365.40.

                     Final completion occurred on November 04, 2019 with a reduction in the amount of ($107,784.57) based on the difference between the preliminary and final quantities.

Summary:

Change Order No. 2 (final) reduces the BCC approved expenditure by ($107,784.57) and accepts the contract as complete.  The reduction in expenditure is due to the difference between the preliminary and final quantities, and balance of unspecified work not utilized.  Substantial completion for this project was achieved on September 19, 2019.  Final acceptance was granted on November 4, 2019.

 

Background/Explanation:

The contract was awarded by the BCC on August 21,2018 to provide for the reconstruction of the Airport terminal building security system to meet current standards.  Work included the installation of a new camera and security access control system to the existing terminal building entryway with associated monitoring system, and upgrades to the badging office.  Change Order No. 1 was approved by the County Administrator on September 23, 2019 for the purpose of additional work to the security access control system.

 

Fiscal Impact:

Original expenditure not to exceed:                     $3,202,365.40

Change Order No. 1:                                                               $   114,829.82

Change Order No. 3 (final):                                          ($  107,784.57)

 

Revised total expenditure:                                                               $3,209,410.65

 

Funding is derived from the Airport Capital Improvement Program budget.

 

Delegated Authority:

Authority for the County Administrator to approve and execute this change order is granted under Code Section 2-62 (a)(3).
