Background/Explanation:
The Board of County Commissioners (Board) approved the FY16 DOH Operations contract in the amount of $3,700,100.00 on November 10, 2015; term is October 1, 2015 to September 30, 2016. The County Administrator approved the first amendment on March 23, 2016. Because the State of Florida periodically makes funding adjustments reflecting changes in State or Federal support, as well as other administrative changes to the contract, the Board delegated the authority to execute administrative amendments to the County Administrator.
During the first quarter of FY2016 (October-December), DOH Pinellas has provided services 30,240 clients (FY2015 total - 171,631 clients). Communicable disease services were provided to 14,960 clients in the first quarter (FY2015 - 65,031 clients). Environmental health services were provided to 2,663 clients in the first quarter (FY2015 - 11,188 clients). Primary care services including disease prevention, tobacco intervention, Healthy Start, School Health and other programs were provided to 12,617 clients in the first quarter (FY2015 - 95,412 clients). This does not include Pinellas County Health Program clients.
Fiscal Impact:
This Amendment provides no additional fiscal impact. The original Agreement appropriated an amount not to exceed $3,700,100.00 which is derived from a dedicated millage rate levied countywide.
Delegated Authority:
Authority for the County Administrator to sign this Amendment is granted under Code Section 2-62 (a)(2) and by Board approval in Legistar Item 14-400.
