Summary:

The purpose of this project is to construct a ten foot prefabricated pedestrian bridge over Alligator Creek. The shared multi-use path on both sides of the bridge will be realigned and reconstructed. Approximately four hundred (400) feet of sidewalk will be reconstructed south of the bridge and approximately one hundred twenty five (125) feet north of the bridge, providing a ten (10) foot wide shared multi-use path with two (2) foot shoulders on each side. Connectivity will be provided to the existing Ream Wilson and Pinellas County/Duke Energy Trail segments at the North East Coachman Road and Old Coachman Road intersection and will ultimately connect to the future Duke Energy Trail Extension Phase II.

Background Information:

This network of multi-use shared paths forms a segment of the north loop and provides continuous connectivity to the various local trail corridors.  The proposed improvements include a new ten (10) foot wide multi-use shared path and pedestrian bridge meeting the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act.  This multi-use path and bridge alignment will also accommodate and compliment the future and adjacent Old Coachman Road bridge replacement.

Fiscal Impact:

Expenditure not to exceed: $499,431.07

Funding is derived from the Local Infrastructure Sales Tax (Penny for Pinellas), and City of Clearwater interlocal agreement funding in the amount of $100,000.00.
