Approval and execution by the County Administrator of the Interlocal Agreement with the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) to provide British Petroleum (BP) Funds in the amount of $589,000.00 for the design and installation of electric bus charging stations within the City of St. Petersburg.

Summary:

In accordance with the Board’s approval on December 13, 2016 of BP projects and associated funding for each project, this agreement provides $589,000.00 to the PSTA to design and install an electric bus charging station.

 

Background/Explanation:

This project will provide funding for an electric bus charging station, which includes an in-route charging station, engineering and installation of chargers, and a depot charger at the PSTA headquarters.  The new bus charging station will establish the necessary infrastructure for a low-emission and energy efficient public transport network.  The PSTA will facilitate the design and installation phases of the project.

 

Fiscal Impact:

This Interlocal Agreement provides $589,000.00 in funding from the $7.1 million BP Economic Settlement Funds for the development of an electric bus charging station. The funding has been appropriated for this purpose in the Fiscal Year 2017 Budget.  The County shall have no obligations related to maintenance, operation, and/or any other activity yielding a fiscal impact.

 

Delegated Authority:

Authority for the County Administrator to sign this Interlocal Agreement is granted under Resolution No. 16-90 adopted on December 13, 2016.
