Background Information:
The County has initiated a program to replace air release valves (ARVs) discovered to be inactive or in poor operating condition on its wastewater force mains. The County engaged engineering consultants to review ARVs that were determined to be the most critically in need of replacement. The consultants provided recommendations to repair/replace the ARVs, and new ARV Standard Details were developed with the intent of moving ARVs out of roadways (offsetting) and locating them above grade for ease of maintenance.
The six (6) ARV locations within the 54th Avenue North project area were evaluated, and replacement ARVs were designed adhering to the County’s new ARV Standard Details as much as possible or practical.
