Approve the award of bid for requirements of new pumps, pump parts and pump repairs for the Utilities and Solid Waste Departments to:

              John Mader Enterprises, Inc. for Goulds, Flowserve and ABS Pumps

              Kaman Industrial Technologies for Wilo and Baldor Pumps

              Regional Engineering & Service, Inc. for Weir, Floway and Wemco Pumps

              Tampa Armature Works, Inc. D/B/A TAW Tampa Service Center for
              Peerless/Grundos, Fairbanks Morse, Foster Wheeler, American Marsh and
              Mody Pumps

              Xylem Water Solutions, USA for Flygt Pumps

Bid No. 167-0325-B(LN) in an annual amount of $1,400,000.00 for a sixty (60) month  total of $7,000,000.00 on the basis of being the lowest responsive, responsible bids received meeting specifications.

Summary:

This contract provides for the repair and/or replacement of various heavy duty industrial pumps critical to County water and wastewater system operations.  Specific firms are designated by original equipment manufacturers as certified to repair their pumps; the award to multiple vendors is necessitated due to the required certifications of pump manufacturers. 

This sixty (60) month contract has provision for one (1) price adjustment at thirty-six (36) months after award based on the Consumer Price Index, All Urban Consumers.

 

Background Information:

On May 4, 2017, the Purchasing Department, on behalf of the Utilities and Solid Waste Departments, released an invitation to bid with the intent to establish a contract for pumps, pump parts and pump repair services.  This contract replaces a current contract that will terminate on July 5, 2017.

 

Fiscal Impact:

Estimated sixty (60) month expenditure not to exceed:  $7,000,000.00

 

Funding is derived from the Utilities and Solid Waste Departments Operating budgets.
