Boesch Drive is a private cul de sac in the Blackstone Community of the Estates of Lake Tarpon Subdivision, located in unincorporated Palm Harbor. County staff, at the request of the Blackstone Community, petitioned affected property owners about renaming Boesch Drive as Blackstone Drive. The petition to change the road name received 76.9% approval.
F.S. 336.05(1) authorizes the Board of County Commissioners (Board) to rename County roads. County Code 154-103(a)(2) permits a County road to renamed upon submission of a petition signed by sixty percent (60%) of affected property-owners approval.
The United States Postal Service (USPS) and County Emergency Management have no objections to the name change. Additionally, the renaming fee required by County Code has been paid.

Background Information:
No other Blackstone Drive exists in either incorporated or unincorporated County. Fourteen (14) lots have a physical address of Boesch Drive and are affected by the renaming of the road. Two of the 14 lots have the same owner. Thus, thirteen (13) owners were petitioned. Ten (10) of the 13 petitioned owners (76.9%) approved of the road being renamed. Two of the 13 petitioned owners disapproved of the renaming and one of the 13 owners was unresponsive.
The Public Works Department will forward a copy of the adopted Resolution to the USPD.
