FAA requires owner-signed registration form be kept in the Aircraft.

5.3 Ensure effective and efficient delivery of county services and support

Summary:

The FAA requires a registration form be signed by the owner of the helicopter and be kept in the Aircraft. This signed form is a legal requirement to fly the aircraft. The FAA will not release the helicopter without the signed form. The delivery flight to the County is anticipated to occur on January 18, 2024.

Background/Explanation:

The helicopter purchase was approved by the Board on September 8, 2022. The County’s previous helicopter, a 1967 Bell TH-13T, had long exceeded its useful life. The purchase addressed issues of increasing maintenance to provide reliable mosquito control operations throughout the County.
