Summary
The purpose of this receipt and file report is for the filing of general liability settlements and workers’ compensation settlements made under delegated authority to the joint discretion of the County Administrator or his/her designee and the County Attorney. Attached is a memo reporting one (1) general liability settlement and no workers’ compensation settlements for the period of October 1, through December 30, 2022.

Background Information:
The attached memo dated January 6, 2023, shows the detail of one (1) general liability settlement and no workers’ compensation settlements for the last quarter that required mutual consent for the settlement range of $25,001.00 - $50,000.00.
The Board of County Commissioners delegated the settlement authority of claims, with a dollar range of $25,001.00 - $50,000.00, to the joint discretion of the County Administrator or his/her designee and the County Attorney, per §2-142(a) of Pinellas County Code.
Fiscal Impact:
Funding in the amount of $35,000 has been identified in the Risk Financing Fund for Fiscal Year 2023. No additional impact to the budget or budget amendments are expected from the settlements.
