Approval by the County Administrator of the rejection of a single bid received for Uninterruptible Power Source (UPS) Batteries, Traffic and Solar Flares.

 

                     One bid was received for Uninterruptible Power Source (UPS) Batteries, Traffic and Solar Flares.

                     Bid was received from Florida All Battery Systems, LLC.

                     A new solicitation document is being prepared with adjusted quantities and an expanded vendor list to potentially increase competition.

Summary:

This request is to reject the one (1) bid received for Uninterruptible Power Source (UPS) Batteries, Traffic and Solar Flares due to desire to increase the quantities and expand vendor reach due to inadequate competition.

 

Background/Explanation:

A contract request for Uninterruptible Power Source (UPS) Batteries, Traffic and Solar Flares was solicited on July 11, 2022, resulting in one (1) bid received through the invitation to bid process.

The UPS batteries are used for traffic intersections and solar flasher locations to be ordered as and when required. The new batteries will replace non-functioning batteries in UPS traffic controller cabinets and solar flasher units.

Authority for the County Administrator to reject bids is granted under Section 2-188(c).
