Recommended Action

Sitting as the Countywide Planning Authority, adopt an ordinance approve Case No. CW 22-19, a proposal by Pinellas County to amend the Countywide Plan Map from Residential Low Medium to Office, regarding 0.13 acres more or less, located at 3205 Alternate U.S. 19 North.

 

                     The amendment area is a 0.13-acre portion of a larger 0.37-acre property on the west side of Alternate U.S. 19 North.

                     It is located in Pinellas County’s Crystal Beach area, and is approximately 0.35 miles north of Alderman Road

                     The property is currently vacant and has been historically used as an unimproved parking area, but the amendment area is currently designated Residential Low Medium, while the remaining 0.24 acres of the larger property is designated Office.

                     While the applicant does not have any specific future use of the property as a result of this proposed amendment, amending the subject property to the Office category will provide a consistent land use designation for the entirety of the property.

                     Forward Pinellas and the Planners Advisory Committee each unanimously recommended approval of the proposal.

Forward Pinellas, in its role as the Pinellas Planning Council, voted 12-0 to recommend approval of the proposal. The Planners Advisory Committee recommended approval of this case by a vote of 11-0.
