The contract may be extended, subject to written notice of agreement from the County and the supplier for an additional twelve (12) month period beyond the initial sixty (60) month contract period.

Background Information:

This product has proven to be effective in the removal of copper. In 2009, CH2MHill conducted a plant scale copper control testing in response to a consent order issued to SCBAWRF by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) for excessive effluent copper concentrations. The study resulted in design and implementation specific to the use of Nalmet 1689 as the copper control product. The County has utilized Nalmet 1689 since this implementation and has received continued recommendation from Black and Veatch for its use as an effective copper control treatment.

On December 28, 2021, a notice of intent to procure non-competitively was advertised. No responses were received. Additionally, the Non-Compete Committee reviewed and approved this request on June 21, 2022.
