Summary:
The purpose of this receipt and file report is for the filing of general liability settlements and workers’ compensation settlements made under delegated authority to the joint discretion of the County Administrator or his/her designee and the County Attorney. Attached is a memo reporting one (1) general liability settlement and zero (0) workers’ compensation settlement for the period of October 1, 2021 through December 31, 2021.
Background Information:
The attached memo dated January 25, 2022, shows the one (1) general liability settlement and zero (0) workers’ compensation settlement for the last quarter that required mutual consent for the settlement range of $25,001.00 - $50,000.00.
The Board of County Commissioners delegated the settlement authority of claims, with a dollar range of $25,001.00 - $50,000.00, to the joint discretion of the County Administrator or his/her designee and the County Attorney, per §2-142(a) of Pinellas County Code.
Fiscal Impact:
The total amount for this general liability claim was $37,500.00, paid from the Risk Financing Fund in Fiscal Year 2022.
