Approval by the County Administrator of an increase to the contract with Concrete on Call, Inc. for concrete mix materials.

 

                     The purpose of this contract is to provide the supply and delivery of batch mix and ready-mix concrete materials for the County.

                     This increase request is for $300,000.00 with Concrete on Call, Inc., who has the capacity to supply the County, for a total revised amount of $1,292,010.00 to carry out the initiative to address the backlog of sidewalk repairs which has increased the projected usage of this contract until a new contract can be put into place. The Board of County Commissioners (Board) approved this initiative in June 2021.

                     The Public Works Department recognizes the need for a new contract and is currently reviewing and drafting new specifications for an upcoming competitive solicitation.

                     The County Administrator has authority to approve increases to maintenance, repair, and operating contracts by up to 50% of the original Board approved contract.

                     The Board approved this Cooperative contract on July 23, 2019, which was awarded in part to two vendors, Cemex, Inc. (does not have capacity to supply) and Concrete on Call, Inc. in the total amount of $3,442,945.00

 

Contract No. 189-0194-B(AJM), increase in the amount of $300,000.00 for a revised contract total of $3,742,945.00, effective through July 22, 2024

Summary:

This request for an increase to the contract is to carry out an initiative by the Board to address the backlog of sidewalk repairs which has increased the projected usage of this contract until a new contract can be put into place.  The purpose of this contract is for the supply and delivery of batch mix and ready-mix concrete materials for the County.

Background/Explanation:

The Board originally approved this Cooperative contract on July 23, 2019 in the total amount of $3,442,945.00, with $992,010.00 awarded to Concrete on Call, Inc.
