This project consisted of replacing existing twin 66-inch corrugated metal cross drain pipes that have deteriorated and settled due to normal wear and existing soil conditions.

Final completion occurred May 24, 2019 with a reduction in price of ($66,653.14) based on the difference between estimated and final quantities utilized.

The agreement term is not extended as part of this change order.

Contract No. 178-0487-CP(PLU); PID No. 002125A; reducing the contract amount by ($66,653.14) for a revised total of $852,944.76.

Body

Strategic Plan:

4.4 Invest in infrastructure to meet current and future needs
4.5 Provide safe and effective transportation systems to support the efficient flow of motorists, commerce, and regional connectivity.

Summary:

Change Order No. 1 (final) reduces the Board approved expenditure by ($66,653.14) and accepts the contract as complete. The project was substantially complete on 5/9/19 and obtained final completion on 5/24/19. Liquidated damages do not apply, as the county received substantial and beneficial use on 5/9/19. Final inspections of the project for all work performed under the contract were conducted by representatives of the Public Works Construction Management Division. All work has been completed in accordance with the construction contract documents. The time between substantial and final completion accounts for the duration to complete the walk thru inspection with
project stakeholders, punch list items, project acceptance, receipt and approval of certified as-builts, final quantity of materials audit, and receipt of final invoice. Final quantities have been tabulated resulting in a net decrease of ($66,653.14). This is the difference between estimated and final quantities and balance of unspecified work not used.
