Recommended Action
Approval of the resolution to adopt the Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan pursuant to the requirements of Florida Administrative Code 27P-6.
• Proposed resolution will supersede Resolution Number 17-22 approved by the Board of County Commissioners on April 25, 2017.
• Proposed resolution will ensure Pinellas County is in compliance with state and federal criteria for disaster planning, response and recovery.
• Proposed resolution is essential as a criteria for Pinellas County to be considered eligible for available state and federal emergency management and disaster related funding.

Summary
The CEMP is revised by Pinellas County Emergency Management (PCEM) every four years pursuant to Florida Administrative Code 27P-6. The plan has been approved by the Florida Department of Emergency Management (FDEM) in its entirety and must be adopted for resolution by the Board.

Background Information:
Federal and state funding requires the creation, maintenance and revision of a State approved and Board of County Commissions adopted resolution for the CEMP every four (4) years.
The CEMP is a countywide disaster plan providing a broad scope guide of how the County should prepare, respond, recover and mitigate for all hazards incidents. To meet responsibilities identified in the CEMP, formal and specific plans are derived from this master plan to include standard operating procedures and standard operating guidelines by partner agencies and municipalities.
Fiscal Impact:
PCEM is awarded an average of $325,000.00 in grant funds from State and Federal partners to administer activities directly related to the CEMP.
