Summary:

Summary

Replace the existing exit portals in the Gate 7-11 area of the St. Pete-Clearwater Airport with updated state-of-the-art exit lane technology.

Body

Background Information:

The existing portals were originally installed to provide an automated exit system for arriving passengers to leave the secure area to access the baggage claim area and leave the airport. In the past, this function was provided by TSA agents that required the airport to reimburse TSA for this service.

The existing portals will be replaced with new exit lanes that have state-of-the-art “anti-pass-back” technology that prevents individuals and objects from being conveyed from the non-secure area to the secure area of the airport. This new system does not require TSA or airport personnel to monitor the lanes during arriving passenger operations.

Three bids were received with Eveland Brothers, Inc. recommended for award as the lowest responsive and responsible bidder in the amount of $854,298.12.

Fiscal Impact:

Amount not to exceed:                     $854,298.12

Funding is derived from Airport CIP Budget and FDOT.
