Recommended Action

Sitting as the Countywide Planning Authority, adopt an ordinance approving Case No. CW 21-01, a proposal by the City of Tarpon Springs to amend the Countywide Plan Map from Residential Low Medium to Public/Semi-Public, regarding 2.82 acres more or less, located at 324 East Pine Street, 424 North Ring Avenue, and 395 North Grosse Avenue.

 

                     The subject property currently houses the Tarpon Springs City Hall and the Performing Arts Center.

                     The proposed amendment will bring the property into conformity with the Countywide Plan Map category consistent with the existing uses.

                     Forward Pinellas and the Planners Advisory Committee each voted unanimously to recommend approval of the proposal.

Forward Pinellas, in its role as the Pinellas Planning Council, voted 12-0 to recommend approval of the proposal.  The Planners Advisory Committee recommended approval of the case by a vote of 11-0.
