Background Information:
Prepares the comprehensive plan and plan amendments, makes recommendations to the BCC regarding the plan adoption and amendments and review land development regulations.
Preparation of the comprehensive plan and plan amendments and making recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) regarding the adoption and amendment of such plan. Agency reviews land development regulations and amendments thereto and makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners on their consistency to the comprehensive plan. Agency also review and makes recommendations to the BCC on each proposal for change in land use or zoning, a proposed or amended development agreements, and conditional use requests.
Seven members, one nominated by each member of the BCC, and then appointed in whole by the BCC. The term of office shall run concurrent with the term of the nominating Commissioner. The BCC may appoint one alternate to serve in the absence of any regular member. A representative of the Pinellas County School District, appointed by the School Board, shall be a non-voting member.
