Approval of a Memorandum of Understanding between WorkNet Pinellas, Inc. d/b/a CareerSource Pinellas and the Pinellas County School District.
• Renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding with Pinellas County School District to align expiration dates with the other MOU’s included in the Local Workforce Development Plan.
• On April 21, 2020, the Board approved the 2020-2024 Local Plan that was developed in accordance with 2020-2024 Local Workforce Services Plan Instructions provided by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity.
• However, the Memorandum of Understanding with the Pinellas County School District had an expiration date of June 30, 2020, which requires renewal to align with the other Memoranda of Understanding in the Plan with a new expiration date of June 30, 2021.

Summary
The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) requires each Local Workforce Development Board (LWDB) to develop and submit, in partnership with the local chief elected official, a comprehensive four-year plan to the State. The plan is effective July 1, 2020 - June 30, 2024. Because of the timing of the MOU process, the MOU with the Pinellas County School District term expires on 6/30/2020. At this time, we would like to renew the MOU with Pinellas County Schools through 6/30/2021 to align with the other MOUs included in the Local Workforce Development Plan.

As part of the Local Plan, Memoranda of Understanding with the One Stop Partners was included. However, the Memorandum of Understanding with the Pinellas County School District had an expiration date of June 30, 2020, which requires renewal to align with the other Memoranda of Understanding in the Plan.

There is no financial impact to the County.
