Approval of the Second Amendment to the Agreement with The Southern Group of Florida, Inc. (Southern Group) for state governmental relations services.
• This contract provides the County with state focused legislative monitoring and policy strategy, agency and elected official policy recommendations including securing legislative appropriations.
• The Second Amendment extends the Agreement for twenty-four months and increases the contract $156,000.00
• The Board of County Commissioners (Board) approved this contract on June 19, 2018 in the amount of $156,000.00. The Division Director of Purchasing and Risk Management acknowledged a name change on January 31, 2020.
Contract No. 178-0174-P(LN), increase in the amount of $156,000.00 for a revised total contract value of $312,000.00 with an annual amount of $78,000.00; effective through June 30, 2022. Authorize Chairman to sign and Clerk of Circuit Court to attest.

The Second Amendment exercises the twenty-four (24) month term extension and increases the contract $156,000.00. This contract provides State Governmental Relations Services, including but not limited to: development of legislative strategy, policy recommendations to agencies and elected officials, monitoring legislation and policy, securing appropriations, and advocating for legislation consistent with the County’s legislative program and priorities.
