Approval and execution by the County Administrator of Change Order No. 1 (final) with VacVision Environmental, LLC for Sanitary Sewer Manhole Rehabilitation Projects for Fiscal Year (FY) 2017-2019.

 

                     This project consisted of videoing, grouting, and lining rehabilitation of sanitary sewer manholes.

                     This Change Order decreases contract funds in the amount of ($116,978.79) based on the difference between estimated and final quantities utilized.

                     A significant decrease occurred as most of the funds for unspecified work were not utilized and some of the manholes could not be located for repair; VacVision completed all assigned work orders issued under this contract.

                     The agreement was extended by forty-five (45) consecutive calendar days as part of this Change Order.

                     The Board of County Commissioners (Board) awarded this contract on September 13, 2018.

 

Contract No. 178-0430-CP(PLU); PID No. 01814B; decreasing the contract amount by ($116,978.79) for a revised total of $293,437.71; the revised agreement expiration date is March 2, 2020.

Summary:

Change Order No. 1 (final) decreases the Board approved expenditure by ($116,978.79), accepts the contract as complete and authorizes final payment.  Substantial completion was achieved on January 17, 2020; final completion was accepted on March 2, 2020. Liquidated damages do not apply as the County received substantial and beneficial use on January 17, 2020, within the original contract duration.

 

Background/Explanation:

The purpose of this work order project is furnishing and installing manhole liners, stainless steel inserts, manhole ring and cover adjustments, restoration, videoing manholes, and any other incidental work required to re-commission sewer manholes, along with miscellaneous incidental construction.

 

Fiscal Impact:

Expenditure not to exceed:                                                                                     $410,416.50

Decrease due to Change Order No. 1 (final):                     ($116,978.79)

Final Revised Agreement Amount:                                           $293,437.71

 

Funding is derived from the Utilities Sanitary Sewer Enterprise Fund.
