Recommended Action

Approval and execution by the County Administrator of the First Amendment with Atkins North America, Inc., for Professional Engineering, Biological, Planning and Environmental Services for the Anclote River Watershed Management Plan (WMP).

The purpose of this contract is to develop a WMP for the Anclote River.

The First Amendment is for an eight (8) month contract extension through March 31, 2021.

The extension results from pausing the WMP while the County and the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) reviewed an acceptable new LiDAR dataset for use on the WMP project.

There is no additional price associated with this request as ample funds exist on the contract to provide for the time extension.

The Board of County Commissioners (Board) awarded this contract on April 25, 2017.

Contract No. 167-0002-NC (SS); in the amount of $883,760.00 with an estimated annual expenditure of $241,025.46, through March 31. 2021.  This Amendment has no fiscal impact....Body

Summary:

This First Amendment extends the current Agreement by eight (8) months due to pausing the WMP project while the County and SWFWMD reviewed an acceptable new LiDAR dataset for use on the project.  Staff agreed it would be best to use the new LiDAR dataset for the WMP as the basis for the model and, in coordination with SWFWMD, decided to pause the WMP until the dataset was available.

Once SWFWMD and the County agreed on the usability of the new LiDAR dataset, the WMP began moving forward again.  The delay of approximately eight (8) months has necessitated a time extension to the agreement.

There is no additional price associated with this request as contract funding is adequate through the revised anticipated completion date of March 31, 2021.
