Approval of the resolution granting status to the Seminole Junior Warhawks Athletic Association for donation of surplus personal property.

 

                     Declare surplus 400 ft. of fiber cable and authorize this donation to the Seminole Junior Warhawks Athletic Association.

Summary:

Summary

This action will grant status to Seminole Junior Warhawks Athletic Association (SJWAA) to receive donation of surplus County personal property. This action benefits the County by providing in-kind support to a community partner providing active recreation to our citizens in unincorporated Pinellas County.

This action also declares four hundred (400) feet of fiber cable as surplus and authorizes its donation to SJWAA.  Public Works staff has determined the usefulness of the listed miscellaneous material to County operations has been exhausted

Background Information:

The Board, per Florida Statute Section 274.05, is authorized to donate surplus property to other governmental units in the county or district or to private nonprofit agencies. As a potential recipient, Seminole Junior Warhawks Athletic Association will be provided notice of available surplus property and will be afforded opportunity to acquire surplus items by donation, prior to advertisement of the items for sale.

In addition to the attached list of Social Action Non-Profit Agencies, the following entities are provided advanced notification of County surplus personal property: Suwannee County, Juvenile Welfare Board, Pinellas County School Board, Palm Harbor Community Services Association (PHCSA), Vincent House, Florida Dream Center, Creative Pinellas and Keep Pinellas Beautiful.
