Approval of the Goods Agreement with CUES, Inc. (CUES) for a television (TV) inspection vehicle for the Utilities Department General Maintenance Division pursuant to the pricing of State of Ohio Contract No. 800489.

 

                     Purchase authorization with CUES for a TV inspection vehicle to inspect the condition of pipes utilizing pricing from a competitively sourced contract from State of Ohio Contract No. 800489.

                     Total expenditure is $298,670.00.

                     This purchase authorization is part of the Utilities Department Fiscal Year 2020 equipment purchase plan.

 

Contract No. 190-0269-PB(AJM) in the amount of $298,670.00.  Authorize the Chairman to sign and the Clerk of the Circuit Court to attest.

Summary

This purchase authorization is for a TV inspection vehicle for Utilities General Maintenance Division (GMD).  Utilities GMD currently utilizes other CUES inspection equipment; thus, the purchase of this vehicle will ensure compatibility with existing equipment and software.  The TV inspection vehicle utilizes closed-circuit television video equipment and cameras to perform pipeline inspections which greatly assists in determining the exact location and severity of potential defects in the pipe system.

Background Information:

The continued use of TV inspection vehicles has greatly improved the ability of staff to determine the condition of pipes, ensuring that maintenance is performed where needed and that breaks are kept to a minimum. 

 

Fiscal Impact:

Total expenditure not to exceed: $298,670.00

 

Funding is derived from the Utilities FY20 equipment purchase plan.
