Approval of the term extension and increase to the agreement with Bright House Networks for Metro-Ethernet/Wide Area Network Services.
• The current agreement provides for annual auto renewals; this request extends the contract for one year through February 1, 2021.
• The requested increase to the agreement is $292,020.00 for a revised annual total expenditure of $828,000.00.
• The increase is necessary to continue monthly services for existing data circuits and internet access, as well as adding or changing service levels as necessary in order to optimize the County’s network solutions.
• This contract provides Metro Ethernet and Wide Area Networking connectivity and Internet access services to County departments connecting over 60 locations as part of an enterprise County network.
• This contract was competitively solicited and awarded by the Board of County Commissioners February 2, 2010.

Summary:
Summary
The current agreement provides for annual auto renewals to the Metro-Ethernet/WAN Services contract with Spectrum, formerly Bright House Networks, and extends the contract term one year through February 1, 2021. The increase to the Agreement will provide for the Business Technology Services (BTS) Department to continue monthly services and work on several initiatives that will rebuild existing circuits, replace and upgrade hardware, and add monitoring and reporting capabilities as necessary. BTS anticipates this will be the final term extension in preparation of a new replacement contract.

Background Information:
This contract for Metro Ethernet and WAN services was originally awarded by the Board on February 2, 2010 for a five (5) year term through February 1, 2015. On August 18, 2015, the Board approved the Fifth Amendment for a five (5) year term extension through February 1, 2020. Amendments one (1) through four (4) were previously approved by the County Administrator and provided for such revisions as bandwidth increases and relocation of services at certain County facilities.
