Approval of the Resolution supplementing Resolution 10-198, designating certain Pinellas County Code Enforcement personnel supporting the Construction Licensing Board to enforce Florida Statutes, County Codes, Laws of Florida/Special Act and Ordinances providing for public records exemptions for current and former Code Enforcement Officers.
• Chapter 75-489 Laws of Florida, as amended, authorizes the Pinellas County Construction Licensing Board (PCCLB) to issue citations for contracting violations.
• Section 125.69, Florida Statutes, authorizes counties in the State of Florida to impose fines or imprisonment for violations of ordinances and to provide for enforcement of its ordinances by code inspectors.
• Chapter 162, Florida Statutes, permits designated code inspectors to request hearings and ensure code compliance pursuant to said chapter.
• Chapter 705, Florida Statutes, authorizes counties to designate employees who have the authority to enforce codes or ordinances to administer the provisions of said Chapter.
• Pinellas County Construction Licensing Board supports the designation of certain code enforcement officers and employees.
• Section 119.071(4)(d)2.i, Florida Statutes, provides additional public records exemptions for personal information of current and former code enforcement officers.
• The Resolution allows the Contractor Licensing Department investigators to enforce our ordinances and laws and be protected by the same public records exemptions as current and former Code Enforcement Officers.
