Summary:
This authorization will allow the County Attorney to file a claim to receive a portion of the settlement funds designated for members of the class in this lawsuit.
Pinellas County has purchased liquid aluminum sulfate (Alum) directly from Defendant corporation(s) and is, therefore, entitled to a pro-rata share of the approved settlement.
The County’s claim must be filed on or before November 7, 2019. The amount that the County has spent for which recovery may be sought is not yet known and County staff is researching that issue. It is not recommended that the County opt out and file an independent claim
