Summary:
The EMS Authority and the Cities of Clearwater, Largo, Safety Harbor and Seminole as well as the Lealman Special Fire Control District desire to extend the EMS ALS First Responder Growth Management Agreement for a one-year term with a new expiration of September 30, 2020.
Background/Explanation:
On May 7, 2019, the Board, sitting as the Pinellas County EMS Authority, approved the EMS Advanced Life Support First Responder Growth Management Agreement with the Cities of Clearwater, Largo, Safety Harbor and Seminole as well as the Lealman Special Fire Control District. That agreement will expire on September 30, 2019 but contains an option to extend for three (3) additional one (1) year terms.
This amendment represents the first of those one-year extensions. The new expiration of the agreement will be September 30, 2020. This is a “time only” amendment and all terms of the original agreement will remain in force throughout the extension period.
The program was successfully implemented on June 5, 2019 and all performance metrics are favorable. In discussion with the participating provider agencies the desire is to continue the program as designed.
