Approval and execution by the County Administrator of Change Order No. 1 (final) with Kamminga & Roodvoets, Inc. the Highland Avenue Drainage Improvement Project (Jeffords Street to Pine Street).

                     This project consisted of removal and replacement of in-ground detention system and stormwater pipes, milling and resurfacing of roadway, construction of sidewalk, Americans with Disability Act ramps, traffic and pedestrian signal upgrades, and relocation of the City of Clearwater’s water main.

                     The Board of County Commissioners (Board) awarded this project to Kamminga & Roodvoets, Inc. on August 7, 2018.

                     Final completion occurred May 24, 2019 with a reduction in price of ($230,608.34) based on the difference between estimated and final quantities utilized.

Summary:

Change Order No. 1 (final) reduces the Board approved expenditure by ($230,608.34) and accepts the contract as complete. The reduction in expenditure is due to the difference between estimated and final quantities, and balance of unspecified work not utilized. Substantial completion for this project was achieved on May 23, 2019; final completion was accepted on May 24, 2019. All work has been completed in accordance with Plans and Specifications.

 

Background/Explanation:

This contract was originally awarded by the Board on August 7, 2018, in the amount of $1,728,508.80 for a total construction duration of 450 consecutive calendar days. The City of Clearwater (City) executed a Joint Participation Agreement with the County for City related utility work to be constructed as part of this project.

 

Fiscal Impact:

Original estimated expenditure not to exceed:                      $1,728,508.80

Decrease due to change order no. 1 (final):                      $(  230,608.34)

Revised estimated total expenditure:                                           $1,497,900.46
