• This contract is for Utilities Engineering Consulting Services on a continuing basis per the Consultant Competitive Negotiation Act.
• The First Amendment increases the upset limit in the amount of $750,000.00 for each firm for a revised amount of $2,250,000.00 for each firm through August 8, 2021.
• This contract was awarded by the Board of County Commissioners on August 9, 2016.
• The increase is requested to provide the Utilities Department the ability to complete current and future projects.
Contract No. 156-0127-CN (SS); Increase in the amount of $10,500,000.00, for a revised contract value of $31,500,000.00 with an annual amount of $6,300,000.00; effective through August 8, 2021.

Summary:
This increase is requested to provide Utilities the ability to complete current and future projects. Utilities has released and obligated over 80% of the available approved funding for this contract, with a total of $17,027,663.50 spread across 144 different work assignments. The 5-year term of the contract concludes on August 8, 2021. At this spending rate, Utilities will not have enough funds available to last through the remaining contract.
Background Information:
On August 9, 2016, the Board approved a contract to provide Utilities Engineering Consulting Services on a continuing basis as part of the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) for pipelines, facilities, and operations of water, sanitary sewer and reclaimed water projects.
Fiscal Impact:
Estimated original expenditure not to exceed: $21,000,000.00
First Amendment Increase not to exceed: $10,500,000.00
Revised total expenditure not to exceed: $31, 500,000.00
Estimated annual expenditure not to exceed: $6,300,000.00
Funding is derived from various CIP budgets and/or operating budgets per individual work assignments on a multiple year/multiple work assignment basis.
