Approval of the appointment of an alternate member to the Board of Adjustment and Appeals. The term of office shall be four years.

Background Information:
The previous alternate member, Michael “Chris” Foley, resigned. The Pinellas County Land Development Code gives the BCC authority to appoint up to 2 alternates to the Board of Adjustment & Appeals, but does not require it.The BOA has the authority to grant variances, nonconforming use modifications and Type 2 uses (special exceptions) in the appropriate cases. The BOA also hears appeals of staff level decisions.The BOA was created by an ordinance passed by the Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners and could be dissolved by a similar act of the Board repealing or changing the ordinance that created it.Seven members, one each nominated by each member of the County Commission, and appointed by the Board of County Commissioners. Term of office shall be up to four years, and shall run concurrently with the term of the appointing commissioner.
