Approval and execution by the County Administrator of Change Order No. 1 (final) with M.T.M. Contractors, Inc. for the Sunset Point Road sidewalk - Pinellas Trail to Douglas Avenue project.

 

                     Project with M.T.M. Contractors for construction of 900 ft. of new sidewalk on the north and south sides of Sunset Point Road, which connects the Fred Marquis Pinellas Trail to Douglas Avenue.

                     The Board of County Commissioners (Board) awarded this project on November 28, 2017 in the amount of $388,355.25

                     Final completion occurred November 18, 2018 with a reduction in price of ($36,562.42) based on the difference between estimated and final quantities resulting in a final price of $351,792.83.

 

Contract No. 167-0520 -CP (JJ); PID No. 001886A; reducing the contract amount by ($36,562.42) for a revised total of $351,792.83.

Summary:

Change Order No. 1 (final) reduces the Board of County Commissioners (Board) approved expenditure by ($36,562.42) and accepts the contract as complete. The reduction in expenditure is due to the difference between estimated and final quantities, and balance of unspecified work not utilized. Substantial completion for this project was achieved on October 11, 2018; final completion was accepted on November 29, 2018. The protracted time between expected and actual final completion was necessary in order to complete the walk thru inspection with project stakeholders, punch list items, final testing, project acceptance, receipt and approval of certified “as builts” which included final approval of the Engineer of Record.  As part of this Change Order, the Agreement term is increased by forty nine (49) calendar days.

 

Background/Explanation:

This contract was originally awarded by the Board on November 28, 2017 to construct 900 ft. of new sidewalk on the north and south sides of Sunset Point Road, which connects the Fred Marquis Pinellas Trail to Douglas Avenue.

Original estimated expenditure not to exceed:                      $ 388,355.25

Decrease due to change order no. 1 (final):                      $(  36,562.42)
