Summary:
This lawsuit arose from an incident investigated by the Pinellas County Office of Human Rights in which there was cause to believe a violation of housing discrimination had occurred. Subsequent to the Board authorizing suit, the case was referred to outside counsel; however, due to irreconcilable differences in the representation of the complainant, outside counsel seeks to withdraw from representation. Because Pinellas County has recently contracted with additional legal service providers through the County’s competitive procurement process, this case is being transferred to alternative counsel that was not listed in the original agenda memo. The transfer is being done with prior notice to and without objection from the complainant.
