Approve the disbursement of funds from the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Trust Fund and the service funding agreement with listed agencies in accordance with the recommendations of the Substance Abuse Advisory Board (SAAB).

Summary:
Alcohol and Drug Abuse Trust Fund awards are disbursed annually to recipients who are licensed as substance abuse treatment providers with the Florida Department of Children and Families.
The SAAB is the appointed oversight committee for the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Trust Fund. The SAAB has reviewed all requests for funding and recommended the following projects at their August 21, 2018 meeting, totaling $53,000.00:
1. Boley Centers Continued Morningside Flooring Replacement $9,000.00
2. Directions for Living Therapeutic Supports for Clinical Care $6,000.00
3. Family Resources Energy efficient A/C and New Furniture $6,000.00
4. Operation PAR Mattress and Crib Replacement $7,000.00
5. PEMHS Safety Padding $10,000.00
6. Suncoast Center Computer Technology Improvements $8,000.00
7. Westcare Westcare Gulfcoast Readiness Project $7,000.00
Background Information:
Funding is generated from court fees as outlined in Chapter 893.165 of the Florida Statutes that provides for an assistance grant process for allocation.
Each year, the County holds a competitive process to solicit applications for the Trust Fund. Funds must be used for one-time only, non-recurring expenditures such as equipment, special projects, training, renovations and formalized prevention activities
Fiscal Impact:
The contract amount of $53,000 has been included in the FY19 Budget. The funds are generated from the collection of $15.00 court fees as defined under Chapters 938.23 and 893.165, Florida Statutes.
