Approval and execution by the County Administrator of Change Order No. 1 to the contract with Rowland, Inc. for the Georgia Avenue to Avery Bayou Drainage Improvement project.

Contract No. 178-0037-CP (JJ); PID No. 002116A; in the amount of $186,084.03, for a revised total amount of $1,080,603.03, through May 1, 2019.

Summary:

This change order is necessary to relocate the existing sanitary sewer conflicts with the new drain system; relocate the existing water main conflicts with the new storm drain system; and replace existing obsolete water main within the project area. The Agreement term is extended by sixty (60) consecutive calendar days as part of this Change Order.

 

Background/Explanation:

The purpose of this project is to construct a drainage system to eliminate structure flooding, and reduce roadway and residential yard flooding in the Crystal Beach area. The project limits are along Georgia Avenue between Seaford Avenue and Disston Street, including the diverting of stormwater runoff along Disston Street into Avery Bayou at the west end of Lorraine Street.

 

Fiscal Impact:

Original Agreement Amount Not to Exceed: $894,519.00

Increase due to Change Order No. 1: $186,084.03

Revised Agreement Amount: $1,080,603.03

 

Funding is derived from Utilities Enterprise Funds.

 

Delegated Authority:

Authority for the County Administrator to approve and execute this change order is granted under Code Section 2-62 (a)(2).
