Summary:

This First Amendment extends the contract expiration date from February 28, 2019 to January 1, 2020.  Furthermore, the project schedule originally included as Exhibit A to the Agreement has been updated and included in this First Amendment.  The Agreement provides fifty percent (50%) of the construction funding required for stormwater improvements to Bee Branch Creek.  Design of the project is complete and will be advertised for construction phase services in August 2018.

Background/Explanation:

The Board of County Commissioners approved the original Agreement on February 21, 2017 for grant funding in the amount of $440,000, and a total construction cost estimated at $880,000.  The overall objective of this project is to eliminate erosion and encroachment of Bee Branch Creek between 15th Street and Omaha Street (CR 1) in Palm Harbor.  The creek embankment is experiencing areas of erosion and washout due to current flow conditions.
