4.3 Catalyze redevelopment through planning and regulatory programs

Summary:

In May, 2018 the Board of County Commissioners approved amendments to the Clearwater Downtown Development Plan that established revised densities and intensities for sub-districts within the planning area.  Clearwater’s next steps are to amend their future land use categories to enact the policies adopted in their redevelopment plan.  This amendment, in conjunction with CPA #18-16 (companion to item no. 7), accomplishes this intent.

Forward Pinellas, in its role as the Pinellas Planning Council, voted 11-0 to recommend approval of the proposal and staff concurs with this recommendation.  The Planners Advisory Committee recommended approval of this case by a vote of 8-0.
