Bid No. 178-0360-CP(JJ); PID No. 000964A; in the amount of $5,722,777.00 on the basis of being the lowest responsive, responsible bid received meeting specifications. All work is expected to be completed within 1,095 consecutive calendar days. Authorize the Chairman to sign and the Clerk of Court to attest.

Summary:
This contract will provide for repair, rehabilitation and improvements to sanitary sewer pump stations at various locations throughout the County. Pump station repair and rehabilitation is essential for the prevention of sanitary sewer spills. Some of the County stations are now over thirty (30) years old. As equipment becomes obsolete, it is necessary to upgrade to newer technology and communication options in order to repair deteriorated pumps and piping. These improvements are facilitated in order to keep the sanitary sewer collection system functioning at an acceptable level.
Background Information:
Work may include furnishing and installation of pumps, valves, fittings, electrical equipment, panels, conduits, vaults, trenching/boring, bypass pumping, dewatering, restoration, testing and other incidental work required to re-commission a pump station.
Award of this contract is consistent with the sanitary sewer pump renewal and replacement program based on a twenty (20) year life cycle and is consistent with the recommendations of the Stormwater/Wastewater Taskforce.
Fiscal Impact:
Expenditure not to exceed: $5,722,777.00.
Project funding is derived from the capital improvement program, physical environment, sewer renewal & replacement program allocation and from the Utilities Department sanitary sewer enterprise fund.
