Sitting as the Countywide Planning Authority, adopt an ordinance approving Case No. CW 18-15, a proposal by the City of Clearwater to amend the Countywide Plan Map from Office to Retail & Services, regarding 2.8 acres more or less, located at 300 South Duncan Avenue (subthreshold amendment).

Summary:

Forward Pinellas, in its role as the Pinellas Planning Council, voted 7-5 to recommend approval of this amendment and staff concurs with this recommendation.  The Planners Advisory Committee recommended approval of this amendment by a vote of 8-0. 

As evidenced by the attached correspondence and concerns expressed by those attending previous public hearings, there is considerable neighborhood opposition regarding this case.  A super-majority vote of the Countywide Planning Authority is required to overturn the PPC’s recommendation of approval.
