Approval of 1 appointment to fulfill an existing term to the Pinellas Public Library Cooperative (PPLC) Board of Directors to expire September 30, 2019.

Background Information:
The purpose of the PPLC is to extend library services to unincorporated areas of the county and of participating municipalities that do not have such services, and to improve library services to citizens of municipalities and of library tax districts that have library services. The PPLC Board consists of nine voting members and one ex-officio member. The BCC appoints two members. Criteria for such appointments are: a) previous experience serving on a board or similar body and the capacity to evaluate a full range of perspectives from library service providers to library users; b) represents the interests of all parties, including the county, the PPLC, members with or without libraries and patrons; c) has a vision for the future of countywide library services; and d) may not be an employee or member of the governing body of a library.A vacancy occurred with the resignation of Jim Parent and the term expires September 30, 2019.
